This is exactly what happened.
Straight from the server owner:

Well technically if an unban exploit was developed it'd be packaged into a one-click package for ease of use, so in theory it can be done "that fast." The thing is no such exploit exists.

Though it's quite easily possible for such exploit to come into existance.

Not really... experienced people would quickly find out the malicious add-ons and get them removed.
