Author Topic: Unable to Open Doors!?  (Read 1348 times)

I know this seems like a dumb (really dumb) question, but I am totally new to this game and I have just started playing this with my grandaughter (who normally plays Minecraft). Having just got to grips with building simple things, I am building a house for her and yet when I place a door on the house I am unable to open/walk through it? Is there a key I need to press, cause I am unable to find it?

Can anyone help a noob and his grandaughter?

Thanks.

Step 1: Aim at door brick

Step 2: Click with your LEFT mouse button

Looking at the door and clicking should work.
Try holding the hammer and clicking. If it does nothing, do ctrl+o, go to controls, find where it says fire, and change the key that it's set to by double-clicking it.
Wrench the door and make sure raycasting is on. A little check should be in the box next to it. If there is none, click the box to make a check, and click send.
Try clicking it then.
If it still does not work, wrench the door and make sure the event onactivate>self>door>toggle exists. This is done by wrenching the door and clicking events at the bottom of the pop-up window. If it is not, simply replace that door.
If the door is JVS, JVS is really glitchy and this is no surprise for me. Try using the default doors.
If all else fails, open console by pressing ~, type in "trace(1);" (no "), try clicking the door, and then open up console again and type in "trace(0);".
Then post console.log. Console.log is found in the Blockland folder, usually in Documents/Blockland. It's right in that folder, not in add-ons or anything else.

I assume you're talking about the door bricks.
They should open when being clicked (also called activating) without having tools in your hand.

If that doesn't work you should check out the events tab which can be opened by pressing ''events'' on the bottom of the pop up that appears when you hit a brick with your wrench.
If it's empty try making this by clicking the empty grey box.

I made a mistake, fire should actually be fireweapon.
Also, try clicking the door without any weapon in your hand. If a weapon or tool is in your hand, press Q and click the door with the left mouse button.
