My stove is electric.  I have two ovens though; one gas (propane) and one electric (part of the stove).

Gas is outdated for stoves.

Gas is useful as you can turn of the heat instantly, whereas on an electric the hotplates often keep heating the pan long after it's turned off.

lol electric

gas is faster and has more control, "risks" be damned

Electric stoves are stupid because you can't change the temperature very quickly which can lead to something burning.

I'll stick with gas thanks

induction
energy saving, instant very powerful, instant cool too

well you can just take it off the heat

You can't set something on fire without a spark. They boil ethanol and gasoline with electric burners because of this. You can also do it with a gas stove but the vapors of gasoline and ethanol are highly flammable and, in gasoline's case, explosive.

yes you can...? if you touch a hot coil with a paper towel, it'll catch on fire

are you serious

well you can just take it off the heat
isn't it kinda inconvenient to take a pan you're using off the stove and then wait for it to adjust to the correct temperature

also the food could possibly grow cold during that time, depending on if the stove is stuff or not
