it's not "lacking" belief it's rejection of the concept of a god at all

lol

it's not "lacking" belief it's rejection of the concept of a god at all
then by context it'd be referred to as "antitheism"

according to science, tomatoes are actually every color except for red!

but isn't the color of something just the wavelength of light that it reflects?
so it's still just red?

I think the entire existence of the word "atheist" is useless and arbitrary. Is there a word for non-skiers?  Are there groups of people that meet to discuss the fact on how they don't ski?

It kind of is. The only real reason it exists is because of the extreme prevalence of religion, I guess.

I find it embarrassing to put myself under a category of the same kinds of people who preach the fact that they don't believe in preaching.

...They don't?

That is why I consider myself agnostic, because I don't want to be assumed as that kind of person.

Okay, so you're not agnostic because you are actually agnostic, but you're agnostic because you don't want to be called an atheist?

When someone puts me under a group of people with those actions, they assume I do the same as all of them; reasonably so.

It's not reasonably so, but it is true.

Christians believe in god, so usually if you say you're christian you believe in God. Atheists don't believe in god, so if you say you are atheist then you are assumed to not believe in God.

Okay, I guess.

What society has done to this adjective is assume that everyone who calls themselves an atheist, does the same actions towards God that most atheists do. Atheists that I know are all up in my face, living an atheist life trying to change how people live according to how they do.

Okay. Of course, it could just be that the majority of atheists really aren't like that, but I don't know.

I don't have the want to do any of that, so I consider myself agnostic.

Wow, really?
So you aren't actually agnostic, you just call yourself agnostic because you don't want to have to force yourself into a definition of atheist that isn't really a definition of atheist?
I mean, the definition of atheist isn't "person who doesn't believe in any deities and goes around telling everyone that and trying to deconvert them from their religion", it's just "person that doesn't believe in any deities".
It's also just like saying "Christians that I know go around preaching about how great their religion is, why you should convert, and why other religions are wrong. I don't have the want to do any of that, so I consider myself nonreligious." when you don't have to do any of that to be a Christian.

I mean, if you're really one of those "it is impossible to know" type of guys, just say that instead.

it's not "lacking" belief it's rejection of the concept of a god at all

No, I'm pretty sure it's just lacking a belief.

Atheism is essentially a religion in terms of requirements. Its a also an organized group just as any religion.
seriously

There are no "requirements" for atheism. That's the point. It's not believing, not believing in nothing.
Atheism is not an organized group. There is not a head of atheism, nor atheists who have control over other atheists. Why would there be? With no requirements to be an atheist, there is no need for an organization.

Atheism is not a religion. I've heard this so many times that it frustrates me. Religion is faith, which is believe without evidence, (or science), to varying degrees. Atheism is the lack of faith, and rather looking objectively at what evidence suggests.

I think the entire existence of the word "atheist" is useless and arbitrary. Is there a word for non-skiers?
This is actually an interesting point. The reason we have a word for atheism is due to the extreme prevalence of religion. If 85% of people were skiers, than I'm sure there would be a word to describe people who were not.

This man wins the thread, you all get to go home now.
Also, I'm back from my ban.

I'm an agnostic theist.
agnostic theist is really what most agnostics are trying to say they are, just helps for clarification of meaning.

Atheism is not a religion.
If that be true, then why is there a church of atheism.

If that be true, then why is there a church of atheism.
czechm8 atheists

lol
breaking news: agnostics and atheists now one group

If that be true, then why is there a church of atheism.
Because there are idiots who are atheists and also think it is a religion.

agnostic theist is really what most agnostics are trying to say they are, just helps for clarification of meaning.

but agnostic theist is like believing in a god even if you don't know if there is one??
agnostics usually don't believe in a god?

They always were?

pretty sure agnostic theism is derived from the phrase "it's better to believe in a god and die to find that it doesn't exist than to not believe and die to find out that it does"

They always were?
are you being intentionally difficult or something
