you should have KNOWN

OT: i knew a guy who owned a pair of MDR-R10s once.
Considering how much I love the DR-Z7, I really wanna get an R10 on my head before they're all dead. It's really a shame that Sony's biocel is starting to deteriorate so soon...

don't fret it's just a picture of the artist
here's another:

I think of music as something that people should just shut the forget up and listen too, especially if the song is really good. I also love listening to rock songs and dissecting the instruments from the song

i am not an audiophile and i do not see the incentive in spending hundreds of dollers on multiple different kinds of listening devices, especially if they all create the same soundscapes (locations of audio sources) and mostly only offer different varieties of audio fidelity. maybe im just pleb  though and i don't know what "audiophilia" is all about
The thing is, there are so few actually good headphones in existence that using something even remotely competent can be an entirely different experience, almost no headphones have a proper soundstage or "soundscape" as you put it and it's less a choice of variety and moreso of overall quality and transparency for me. I want my headphones to just step out of the way and let me enjoy the music; problem with that is that the entire audiophile community is being suffocated by people who want the opposite

Try an AKG Q701 if you want a taste of "good" equipment, I have never heard such an honest headphone before in my entire life and it's nowhere near the pricetags that some of these fools are willing to spend

same here. i don't have the money to cop the R10, though. i wish i could've heard them but the dude who had them was WAYYY overprotective about it.

Planning on buying Sony MDR-V6's soon.

As for those questioning why we're audiophiles

I, personally, do not like for my music to sound lacking. I want to "experience" the sound. It bothers me when I listen to headphones and the mids are lacking or the bass is absent, or it sounds tinny. When you have a nice pair of headphones, it really does improve the listening experience.
