so this only occurs if you click on a email link that goes to IE and force downloads the file?if so I don't think its that much of a problem.
I use IE8. I only click links to sites I know, so I don't think I'm at risk.Until someone can fully confirm how you can be affected by this, I'm sticking to chrome.
okay but I still don't understand what it does exactly.care to explain?
This zero-day exploit is an unpatched flaw in the Microsoft browser that allows attackers to install malware on your computer without your permission. That malware could be used to steal personal data, track online behavior, or gain control of the computer. Security firm FireEye, which discovered the bug, said that the flaw is being used with a known Flash-based exploit technique to attack financial and defense organizations in the US via Internet Explorer 9, 10, and 11. Those versions of the browser run on Microsoft's Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8, although the exploit is present in Internet Explorer 6 and above.
why IE8? That is such an old and outdated browser. At least use IE11 if you're going to use IE.
so pretty much you can get infected by it from flash and such?
what if this is actually some huge conspiracy to get me to use chromeIE11's favorites button is on the right. I like it on the left.
um that's a terrible reason to use a browser that no longer has support for modern web layouts.
Almost all websites still work with IE8In fact, I have yet to find a site that won't work with IE8
