Blurriness might have to do with a focus issue or low shutter speed. If so, OP needs to adjust his focus or up his shutter speed (a shutter speed of 1/60 sec or higher is good for handheld shooting). The only times you really need a tripod for photography like this is at a very high aperture (which, in turn, lowers shutter speed), something you might have in a telephoto lens, or in low light.  Low res probably has to do with the default ISO setting. OP, for outdoor daytime shooting, make sure that you have a low ISO setting to reduce graininess in the photos.
Thank you, I will try all of your tips next time I do a shoot. I'll post my results here

I just took some really cool shots of the Blue Angels fighter jets. I'll post them when I get home tonight or tomorrow

You went to the air show? I was there Saturday. :)

I went today. Afterwards we got some food and ate at a park. Two hours after we left the show we saw some show planes fly over us (special biplanes, Cessna planes, etc.). The Blue Angels of course were the best

These are still a bit raw, I haven't cropped or anything and I might see what I can do about the blurriness in some of them.  I just played around with the settings and got these.  I took almost 100 pictures and these are my favorites.  Here are some shots I got:

was expecting liquor and thought op was so drunk he posted in the wrong board

Thanks a lot BluetoothBoy! I have a $600 Canon camera and I did these shots on all manual settings. I will certainly look into your tips

The quality doesn't look of a 600 dollar camera, I think my android phone takes better phones to be honest.
Hopefully it just needs a tripod.

No, he's stated that he's new and using manual settings. For what it's worth, with those two things combined, most people don't do this well. For the most part, the camera doesn't matter (anyway, a $600 camera is almost guaranteed to be at least a "pretty good" camera).

Look at this photo I took with my $400 - $500 2004 camera, manual settings:

There you have it. Ignore the price tag, look at the picture. In the end, it's the photo that matters. Expensive cameras are nice, but not required. Also, stop telling him to use a tripod! A tripod would not work for more than 70% of these photos in the first place! Guess what I didn't use for that picture?

A tripod.

it may not but the camera is capable of more. You have to admit the first jet picture is pretty good. A phone camera never would've gotten that

Did you resize the photos before you uploaded them?

I uploaded them straight to imgur and set them as large so that you guys can see them, so no

What are the photo dimensions when they come off of your camera?

I believe 3888x2592 pixels and I didn't resize them or anything
