Then stop using imgur as your hosting website. It's what's lowering the quality. Notice how you didn't even use [img width=####] to resize in your posts, and yet there's no page-stretch. This means imgur has severely lowered the quality of the images - you should find a different site. I simply use my Dropbox for image hosting.

Also, is there anything I could try to get the background of some of the photos not to be so blurry?
For that, you need to up the aperture setting on your camera. However, when taking shots such as these (close up nature and macro), the background being out of focus is generally desirable.
