Introduction
Steel of Glory is a futuristic, space station, 'dueling community' roleplay enviroment with monthly mission events, as well as over-arching storyline. The roleplay will take place in (x2) time, with long-term in mind. The server will not be white-listed from casual players, but will reward those who are responsible with their characters, and dedicated to the server. The story's primary setting of the roleplay is within the 'Lapis mid-rim observation station'; and the events of the Blue Star kingdom's 'Order of the Shard'.

Setting the Stage
Major AscensionRecorded Rotation #0-0-(0)Rotation years were employed at the start of the Major Ascension. One rotation year is completed when the largest sun 'Voluma' completes a full axis rotation. A rotation is equal to roughly 0.92 'earth' years, divided into four quarters; with 328 days in a single year, EG: Rotation #753-1-(162).At one point; human-kind lived upon the surface of a single planet, however starvation and sickness had lead the sentients to spread beyond the surface of their cramped world. Major governments; their resources, military, and percentile of the citizen population were loaded onto each' newly manufactured transport cruisers, with courses set to pre-explored sections of the galaxy.
The funding groups being: the global parliaments (north, south, east, and west) of the planetary monarchy, the S.A.H (Science Advancement for Humankind) which had primarily contributed the research design of the transport barges, U.R.G (United Regions of Geshura) a longstanding totalitarian empire of the central continents; as well as the smaller and more recent F.S.S (Free Sentients Society) which invited destitute citizens to be part of it's laboring crew, military, and population stimulus. The planet's surface was essentially left to suffering. Despite the decrease in overpopulation, it's citizens were swallowed by the criminally
funded governments that were left behind.
During travel, the groups started to split off from one another politically. The U.R.G, being the second largest fleet as well as the earliest to depart, had split off upon exit of the atmosphere: with half of it's forces leaving for the 'Minimalis' system, and the other heading for the far northern reaches of the 'Lapis' system and eventually spreading southward.
The 'global parliaments', upon reaching their destination of the 'Voluma' system, succumbed to in-fighting between the divisions, eventually severing into factions within each house. They continue to this day in being both enemy and ally to each other, within the chaotic center of the galaxy.
Most F.S.S ships spread out around their home planet; populating all inhabitable surfaces within the 'Rempturen' system, few fleets had ventured southward to join the U.R.G at 'Minimalis'.
The northern sector was the destination of the S.A.H, however due to an unkown phenomenon: only a small fraction of it's forces made it to the 'Selude' system. No further reports were received from the missing fleet.
Humanity had survived; now spanning the majority of the planets within the star system, nothing may stop it from growing. With such fast development; it would be surprising for there to be tranquil evolution.
Recorded Rotation #5230-3-(311)Whilst many of the inhabited planets have turned to independence; there are still many governed by remaining orders of old law. The longevity of the 'Blue star' Kingdom within the 'Lapis' system, the liaise of the 'Warlord Kingdoms' of 'Voluma'; the minor 'White Moon Republic' of 'Ulicia', as well as the scattered 'Black Tail' raiders that inhabit the asteroid clusters among all sectors. War is a continuing effort, as well as an ever-changing field; what fresh shadows that may cast upon: have yet to be known.
Server Status -- News
Special Events: Dedicated server open Friday May 16th.
I don't know if this roleplay will actually start, I will unlock the topic when I feel it is correct.
Rules
(Server, and RP; in order of severity)
Roleplay Rules:Alphabetical characters are to help further define the rules.1.Use OOC for all 'OUT OF CHARACTER' dialogue (E.G: 'Lel, sup guys')
A:If you make a mistake, simply correct yourself by typing '*' into OOC after the error'd message
2.No random, deliberate 'killing'; outside of events (Deathmatching)
A:Sparring is standard within the home station, and does not count as killing; unless declared so by both players.
B:'Deaths' that happen within the home station, must be agreed upon by both the killer and the victim.
C:Most events (missions started by an Admin) allow 'death'; being defeated a certain number of times will kill off your character
D:Once consented to allow killing; these values apply before a character is considered dead: 'New player'; 2 'deaths', Regular player; 4 'deaths',
Member player; 5 'deaths', High Ranking member; 6 'deaths' (this is within' a single session of course, not over all).
E:Please for the love of all that is; don't 'Cops and Robbers' your way out of a death. (OH BUT THEN THIS HAPPENS)
F:If the end of a duel to the death is reached, and the victor decides to 'only cut off your leg' to incapacitate you; it doesn't have to count as a death.
3.Don't deliberately break roleplay (you will be informed the first few times)
A:"We've come to a point of no return, they've amassed their armies before us and outnumber us greatly." "Well; yolo."
4.Try not to shift attention/favor towards yourself/others (to the point of annoyance)
A:"LASER VISION!"
B:"Guys I have this super awesome sword" "Where is it?" "Well, it's always in my bag, because it was my
dads and I like to keep it safe! No, you can't see it." "Okay." *Double Kick*
C:If your character is a bit of an attention hog, that's fine; but we'll all know the difference.
5.Don't 'make things up' as you go along (see rules 3 and 4)
A:Leave that 'Cop-Outs and Robbers' stuff at home
B:Earth doesn't exist, neither does a killer asteriod that destroyed earth, and you were the only remaining survivor that
was sent in a futuristic space taxi-cab, in cryo-sleep; to our lovely station in another universe.
C:Read the Index and crosscheck universe information if you're unsure about something
6.Characters are always able to die, even admins' (See rule 4 and 5)
A:No there is no cure for super poison, because there is no super poison
Server Rules:1.No Racial/loveist slurs, or F-bombs (of any kind)
A:Nig-nogs, Ching-Chongs, Bean-Backs, Stick-Bundles, Bad-Cats, and Flim-Flams; are prohibited.
2.No Over-loveualization
A:'Soft-Core' tones are acceptable, if kept at a minimum.
3.Keep OOC to a minimum
A:It really distracts from roleplaying, and it's spammy.
B:It's quite alright if there are less than four players.
4.Don't perpetuate conflict. (See rule 3)
A:We have private chats for a reason.
5.No you can't be admin
A:Don't ask
6.If you somehow are admin, no abuse
A:Warn Before banning.
B:No vengeance bans.
C:Reduce your warping to minimal.
Applying
(Applying for Regular status, as well as Order Member status)
If you want to 'Pre-Apply': read the Information sectionCheck the 'Character Creation Tips' for advice concerning enlistment or registration.
Regulars do not have to enlist, and may play without enlisting, however they do have more access to in-game
items. For a player to become a regular, they must both apply for it on this topic as well as demonstrate
their responsibility as a player, both 'IRP' and 'OOC'. Once you've applied for the 'type' change, you will
have to wait to be accepted by myself before it will take effect in-game, be patient. Regular status translates
throughout all characters made within the server by one player.
Once a player has become a regular, they may make a separate request for a specific character (made by an application)
for enlistment within the station; you may also apply for enlistment in the same post as your Regular request. There are no
tests required to enlist, however; once accepted: you may be tested to improve your rank within the clan.
There are currently two paths for enlistment: Warrior and Troop.
The Warriors are focused mainly on combat, and will be involved with the most missions away from the station. They will learn the ways of the blade, gaining the strength, and field specialty: to become the ultimate soldier. If you are really in it for the combat as an endgame, and the dueling as grind-game: this is the path for you.
Troops are the crew of the station; oriented in any operation or matters that concern the well being of the base itself. Troops may be found maintaining the station's defenses, as well as manning them in a time of need; as well as providing security measures, as well as other services inside the base. Despite this, it isn't rare for a valuable troop to be chosen for an out of base operation. If you're in it for the home-team, and a more social aspect: this is the path for you.
You are able to change paths a few times per character, however: if going from troop to warrior, you will typically start at a lower rank.
Regular Application: * = Required Fields*In-game Username:(Your Username, E.G: Badspot, Tezuni, Deadzone)
*Blockland ID:(The number attributed to your account in Blockland)
*Character Name(s):(List at least one name of a character that you play as (you don't need to list them all if you want it secretive))
*Character Description:(Pick one of your characters and describe them, backstory; likes and dislikes, etc)
Player References:(Names of players that may attest experience with you in the server)
Why you want to be a regular:(Seriously, why?)
Enlistment Application: * = Required Fields (Must already be a Regular)
*Character Name:(The name of the character that is joining recruitment)
*Character Age:(How old are they?)
*Character Gender:(Yes/No?)
*Character Path:(Warrior or Troop?)
Why you wish to enlist:(Okay now you're crazy, why do you do this?)
Character Creation Tips:If you're not getting very far in the roleplay; the following will help you do so.
1.Read the Index and look at the Map
A:Pick a planet that exists within the index.
B:If you are a 'special-case', PM 'Deadzone' about your character.
2.Check your origin
A:If your character originated from, say, an enemy kingdom; have a good reason for them to be 'joining the other side'.
B:If your character came from the other side of the sector; have a good reason and method for why/how they did it.
C:If your character isn't a generic human, PM 'Deadzone' before making the character a thing.
D:Artificial lifeforms are possible, but make sure the origin is correct: PM 'Deadzone' before making the character a thing.
3.Children won't get to do much
A:The enlistment age minimum is equivalent to sixteen, unless given a grant by a lord.
B:As a child, you won't get weapons beyond fists.
4.Station enlistments are made on-station.
A:If you want to be recruited onto the station, you have to enlist on the station.
B:Members of the 'BlueStar' military, would only be able to enlist on the grounds of 'transfer' to the station grounds.
5.Read over your back-story
A:Blending is the key. Making a character that fits into the roleplay; without standing out too much, is a good starting point.
B:Your character doesn't have to be from a 'super-awesome' origin in order to do cool things in the roleplay.
C:Have a good reason for everything in your character's backstory.
D:Avoid needless origin-drama unless if it plays a crucial part in your character's personality. Not everyone's parent's died at birth.
Rankings
(Ranks for each path, and how to improve)
While holding a specific rank, make sure that a Prefix (when setting your name with /RPname) is set to the abbreviation for your corresponding rank.
EG: [OS]Jake LovelyMan -- OS= Officer Secondary
Warrior Path:
T3 T2
T5 T4 /-- Infiltrator -- Seer --------|
Squire -- Blade-Man
\-- Sentinel -- High Sentinel -|
T1 Positions:Lord, Grand Sentinel; Lord Status is granted by the Grand Lord. Grand Sentinel status is awarded by challenge (see Special Events).
T1 Exclusive: Grand Lord; essentially the king figure, coordinating the resources as well as the major choices made for the station.
The Squire is the entry ranking, you gain this ranking just by getting you application accepted. Completing your basic training will earn you the rite of the basic rank: Blade-Man; two tries per training course. Once you are a Blade-man, you must seek someone to apprentice under; warriors that are at least tier three in ranking may oversee you. You will learn under their guidance, and gain their approval to begin the aptitude.
The aptitude, once given the chance to take: will decide which path you are more suited for. Physically and mentally, are you a warrior of the front-line or a specialist found next to the enemy? After completion of the aptitude, and grant of the tier three ranking: advancement to tier two may only be found through the grant of a Lord or Grand Lord.
The tier one position of Lord is only granted from the Grand Lord, as previously stated. The Lord's main responsibility is similar to such of the Grand Lord, however; choices as well as oversight, are done within the Lord Council. A unanimous decision must be made among the lords, for a request to be fulfilled.
Grand Sentinel, a status that only one may hold: for they are a mighty warrior of the clan.
Troop Path:
E W O
Recruit -- Crewman -- Officer Secondary -- Officer Primary -- Colonel
Higher Officer Positions: Secondary Command, First Command; the position of First Command is chosen by either Lord Council or Grand Lord. Secondary command positions are vouched for by the First Commander, and then approved by either Lord Council or Grand Lord.
Much like the Squire, the Recruit is an entry level position; once a player completes their basic training, they will be promoted to Crewman. Ranking up to Colonel is justified through service days and testing, as well as remaining during times of combat.
Commanders, both First and Secondary; called upon during times of stress: a full control room contingency and station attacks, to organize the crew to their positions. The Admiral performs a similar role except at a much higher privilege, they will be called upon more during times of great stress, or during strategic planning.
