Author Topic: What kind of bird is this?  (Read 1588 times)

Some big ass bird just hit my picture window. Now I would have gotten a picture of the bird itself if the damn cat didn't grab it and hide under the deck first. But I have a picture of its feathers and I did get a look at it. The bird had a grey, pigeon like head but the body was fat like a chicken. Keep in mind that I like in southern Canada so its not a tropical bird or anything like that.

Here is the picture of its feathers.

It's probably a hawk or maybe a goose but I'm not sure

Spruce Grouse maybe?

you called?

although really I have no idea lol

Sounds vaguely like a ruffled Grouse, which is basically a turkey who touched the butt.

edit:
Did the bedamned thing look like this?

No it doesn't look like that. It was a more grey bird but had a dark grey head. And it also had a pigeon head, no feathers on the top or anything.

A seven foot tall canary with a duck bill that dyed its feathers gray. Last seen downtown in the 120 block of Sesame Street.

Plot-twist: you're cat is actually a lion

Mystery solved, we can all sleep tonight.

mourning dove maybe?
