Also, why hasn't the Korean War been made into a game? Or even had much attention for that matter? Hell, that whole war was barely even touched on in school, we just went from WWII to Vietnam, with Korea being a footnote that amounted to "also this happened".

Korea was really the last "great crusade" we undertook as a nation.

Also I don't understand why kiddies want realism in video games. Isn't the point of video games to escape reality?

I'd say (and I'm just guessing) that around....I don't know maybe 0% of the "kiddies" on these forums have fought in a war.

War is only a reality for a small and rapidly shrinking population of the world. If riding in a tank, flying a fighter plane, or shooting at German soldiers as they retreat deeper into the center of Berlin is not escaping reality, I don't know what is.

If I am going to experience a war scenario, like that of a WW2 battle, I'd like it to be, for the most part, realistic. And no matter how realistic it is, it's still not a reality I've witnessed.

Wars will always be fought as long as there are politics and something worth fighting other such as food, water, oil, land, old hatreds, etc. Most conventional wars only last a few days. Many blitzkriegs. Also the fact that many modern armies are smaller, and most warstocks only last a few days. Either a stalemate happens, the war devolves into a long drawn out guerilla war, or someone will be occupied in a few days.
