is this any good?

I found a 1TB Samsung SSD for less than $600 which is what you were paying for two 512gbs. Also for what you're shelling out, 500w seems pretty low. Only one monitor?

Here's what I would do. Drop one of the 512gbs and the 128gb. Get a ~700GB 7200rpm HDD. Then invest what you save in monitors, a better CPU, more case fans, or just save it.

dear god this build is loving terrible, those parts wont even work together

I built a computer for less with a hell of a lot more powerful hardware a couple years ago

ASUS PH867-V Motherboard
Intel Core i7 2600K
MSI GTX-550Ti (Factory Overclocked)
8GB 2600MHz RAM (Kingston I think?)
CoolerMaster Storm Scout case
Intel 520 Series SDD (160GB)
a 600(?)W Silver 90+ rated PSU (dont remember, got rid of the box)
a Rosewill PCI-e Wi-Fi card
an ASUS 22" monitor

and a spare 500GB WD HDD I had sitting around but that's extra

altogether under $800, and this was a while ago, these parts are probably a lot cheaper now

granted you've also got an OS, soundcard, mouse, headset, and case fans in there... all of which are bad choices

get W7 Pro, a Razer DeathAdder Black Edition, Noctua case fans, use normal headphones along with a USB condenser mic (Audio Technica AT-2020, etc), and if you insist on a dedicated soundcard get an HT-OMEGA Claro Halo

Well that's still not ideal if you built it a few years ago. There are cheaper, more efficient and powerful builds than that.

My build is worth around 700 or so, including monitor and case.

GTX 760 (may upgrade to 780 or 790 when it comes)
Intel Core i5 at 3.1 gHz
8GB RAM
700 w PSU
1TB and 222GB HDDs
1080p Monitor plus a 1440x968(?) monitor, for programming/web surfing ect

My build boots in under 5 seconds (even with HDDs)
OS is Windows 8
a medium size, nice case that has a window and has pretty neons (forgot what it was called, sry)

Can run Crysis 2 and 3 on ultra with 60 - 70 FPS (better on crysis 2, about 5 or 10 frames better)

actually it was more like 1.5 years ago, but whatever, its still a good build and it's handled almost everything I've thrown at it with finesse

the only thing it cant handle are port's smooth shaders and GLSL modded Minecraft, both of which would probably make a GTX-Titan based system weep like a bitch

also should i get like only 3 or 2 case fans

I know it's been said but that CPU is absolute stuff, especially for the price. The GPU is also absolute stuff. The whole setup is actually complete stuff, pretty much any suggestion here is 10 times better than what you have.

My server computer build:

• CPU: AMD FX-6300 @ 3.9 GHz
• RAM: 4 GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600 + 8 GB Kingston Hyper X DDR3-1600
• Motherboard: MSI 970A-G46
• Storage: 500 GB Western Digital blue 7200 RPM HDD
• CPU cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo 120mm
• Video card A: Asus Radeon R9 270 @ 1065 MHz
• Video card B: MSI Radeon R9 270 @ 1125 MHz
• OS: Windows 7 home premium

"Why does it have video cards if this is a server system?", you ask. Because this computer also mines crypto-coins.

Gaming PC build:

• CPU: AMD Athlon II x4 635 @ 2.9 GHz
• Motherboard: Asus ?????? (AM3 socket, 2010)
• RAM: 6 GB DDR2-800 (somehow only 3.2 GB usable)
• Storage: 500 GB WD green 5400 RPM HDD
• Video card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 @ 1210 MHz (40% overclock)
• OS: Windows 8 64-bit (planning to install Linux Mint one day)

And yes I am an AMD fan. Sorry to everybody who preaches "nVidia + Intel".

This thread is for suggesting builds for the OP, not sharing our own outdated builds

Well then someone make a thread.

1: never, NEVER, N-E-V-E-R mix RAM
2: your gaming PC build is severely outdated and basically useless to OP
3: your "server" build is also useless to OP because it's way out of his price range
4: your "server" build isn't even a server, you're running a non-server OS on a non-server grade HDD with a non-server oriented CPU

But that sweet 40% overclock, whatever that means. I imagine it makes like no difference since he's using an athalon II, those are what like atleast 6 years old now.

500 gtx titans with a side of 20 overclocked i7 processors
NO!
