Can I just level with everyone here? He's 13, and he wants to visit Japan. When I discovered anime, I instantly wanted to travel to Japan like Setro said "for the anime". And then I did some reading on culture, manners, etiquette, economy and generally how people treated other people. I instantly realized that I would never be able to adapt to that environment, even if it was for a temporary outing. I know he said he wants to visit it later in life but will he even care/remember he wanted to do this? At all?

Japan really isn't that weird, my Aunt's been their before and she said that it wasn't like all the crazy stuff that people post on the internet and that she found it actually pretty boring.
Also Japan seems to be stuck in the 90's or something, even when they're the most technologically advanced country.
