Author Topic: Looking for a free reliable hosting service  (Read 2564 times)

Hello all, Ahead here.

I'm looking for a hosting service so I can get my server up so I can just do things all day and try to get things done.

If you know some hosting services, that would be great. Post them here.

Ahead out.

did you really need to attach that

There are two free hosting services, CBMHost (I would recommend)and Hammeroid bullstuff.

Wouldn't go with hammer he hosts from home (not reliable), so every time he watches research or his mom watches netflix, have fun with the lag.

Well, I use 000webhost , it's super reliable and you can add your own HTML/CSS code to go along with the webpage. You don't have to pay fees, and your websites aren't affected or riddled with ads from 000host. It's super reliable, and even allows for things such as email addresses using your website domain. For example, my 000host website (here) also has retail@spookysushi.com. I'd recommend you at least try it out, and when you want to have faster servers, you can upgrade to their premium $4/month plan.

Ninja-Edit: Crap, I just realized this topic was about Blockland Server Hosting, not website hosting. My apologies, ETIENNESTAR.

have fun with the lag.
HammerHost has NEVER had any lag or high latency related to high network usage. My home connection is more than adequate; just ask my clients.

and Hammeroid bullstuff.
That is flaming. Plus it's obviously called "HammerHost", not "Hammeroid". And this is the only hosting service which still has empty slots, so if you are willing to cope with the initial reliability problems and want to wait for the hosting service to stabilize, use HammerHost. CBM is always full.

Plus I am planning to go premium in one month, so enjoy the free slots while they last!

He's calling your hosting service a haemorrhoid.

dont you think there is a reason for that hammer

Because I have never opened up to full capacity, because of last month's unreliable network. None of my clients ever quit because of the low uptime in April. You can believe whatever you want to, but I was able to fill up the first 10 slots in under 4 days.

The point is, due to my experiences with my last two hosting services before this, players will flock to free hosting, even if it has a 5 Mbps upload connection and 80% uptime.

Um, I filled the 15 slots I opened up after the upgrade to the bigger node in about half that time. @ETIENNESTAR, since we have strict rules on clients inactive for more then 3 weeks, there are going to be slots opening up soon. At least 2 that I'm aware of, possibly more.

Speaking of that, if no one is joining my server, does that count as inactive?

No, inactive means a server that's not been started or had anything done to it for more then 3 weeks. There are exceptions to this, but that is the general rule.

Ok, cool. I'm still hoping to get some people playing on it someday to. :/

Guess it doesn't lag, it just doesn't work at all.

Also you expect people to pay for your stuffty home hosted service which is very unreliable. Very unprofessional.

ETIENNESTAR asked for recommendations on hosting services. I'm sure some people might not agree with the quality of some of the mentioned services, but if you want to bitch about it, perhaps you could do so in the respective topics instead?

I would recommend that you just lock the topic if it continues, because it really doesn't seem like it will help you find one. Pretty much all the options have been mentioned.
