And what makes them so bad?

I personally find them quite decent and they're pretty much everywhere anyways so it doesnt really matter. I was once recommended to use TTS and I tried it out. However that just made the video seem like it had no effort put into it at all.
Sure I could use quotes from movies and whatnot and I will, if I find any good ones

TTS is pretty neat sometimes and it can add a bit of a comical effect too! Eksi and Flub used it in their tennis if I remember right. But if his voice is okay, and fits the character he wants to portray, then I'd say go ahead with that idea c:
