if he was making a full scale Mina's Tirith, yes, but I somehow doubt that.

true

he just mentioned itd be huge so i figured

the point is, i think, to recreate something fun that looks like minas tirith, but not overdetail it. Like i did for my enormous cities.

It is full scale, trust me!!

Are you worried about brick count as if someone adds all the builds together; it makes it pass 256k bricks.
Maybe if you did a fog type of thing and the build ghosts and deghosts as you walk around. though I assume it would have to have a rewrite of saving/loading for that to work.

The city really ISNT that detailed, I really think I can do this in less than 100k bricks.
The whole of the shire came to about 7k, and its super detailed!
More pictures later today before I go to work

Updated with a new screenshot. That's about all the time I have to work on it today. I really am losing inspiration as some of the buildings I've had to build like 2 or 3 times as I'm trying to get it exactly right

This is the image which I am basing Minas Tirith on.
I hope to have it as detailed as this picutre, but maybe a few less buildings especially on the bottom floor.

You will start out on the bottom floor, and do quests to progress to the top level of the castle, where the king will give you permission to join the battle outside the city gates if you've completed enough quests in the city.

Outside the main gates will be a big battle between the Gondor soldiers and Orcs.
Orcs will be weak enemies but there will be lots of them.

I've taken your advice and made it a lot longer.
Good shout, it looks much better! ty x

The scale on Minas Tirith is pretty ridiculous, when you think about it.

It would take an unbelievable amount of time to hone the city out of that rock.
And the fact that the top reaches all the way out to the bottom ring is crazy.

In the film when Denethor is set on fire and he runs from the funerary room all the way to the very end, he must have run really loving fast to cover that distance while literally burning alive.

It looks really good so far, Furdle.
I'm not too keen on the terrain of your Shire (is it bigger than the pictures shown, or is that size, since it seems more like a section of Hobbiton than the Shire), since it has a bit of a jagged look to it, rather than the rolling green hills that are normally portrayed.

Your Minas Tirith looks really pretty so far too.
I'll definitely look at yours for inspiration when Liquid and I get to building the top 2 tiers for our TDM.

Since this is an RPG, what's your plan for bridging the gap between the Shire and Gondor? That's quite a distance geographically. I wonder how your progression will work. What areas you plan to build between the two.

Yeah its Hobbiton in the Shire.

So once you've completed all the quests in the tutorial area (Hobbiton), you go to the exit gate (not pictured) and it does a variable check that you've done them all. Once completed it takes you to Minas Tirith.

At the moment I've done most of the top section and its come up to about 10k bricks (I'll take pictures before I go to sleep tonight)
If I have enough bricks, I will be able to make mordor which will be able to be walkable/ridable from Minas Tirith, as they're both kinda close to each other. IF I make Helm's Deep, it will be another variable checkpoint.
I want to get a main story line going, so a player is never lost with where they should be in the realm.
