F.A.Q.

What is CISPA?
"The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA H.R. 3523 (112th Congress), H.R. 624 (113th Congress)) is a proposed law in the United States which would allow for the sharing of Internet traffic information between the U.S. government and technology and manufacturing companies." Wikipedia
How will CISPA affect me if passed?
Privacy and.. stuff. Its pretty obvious how it will affect you since it not only does not address protecting civil liberties but does not limit the sharing of such information nor does it say explicitly who the companies can share their data with. That's right: they can give any of your personal information to anyone under this revision of CISPA, according to the ACLU.
What can I do to stop CISPA?
http://www.cispaisback.org/ Visit this website for an easy way to stand up to this legally broken bill that will most certainly be abused. I'd advise you send this to your friends as well if they value their Internet liberties.
I live outside the US. What can I do?
If you live outside the US, well, I'm not sure what you can do. I'll update this part if I have the answer.

Googling "What is CISPA?" on Google returned that answer. I will correct that immediately.

Guess I wasnt paying attention. Sorry.

deciphered since you "don't get it":

this is a non-issue and people are over-reacting because they feel like their rights are being violated by big bad govt.'s pp

direct us to a non-biased source or many sources biased in different directions so we can get the full picture pls
i can't generate an opinion on this until i've seen something solid

welp here we go again
this

the government doesn't loving care if they know you looked up 'bananas'

srsly guys why would you care if you looked up 'bananas'

they aren't going to blackmail you if you looked up 'transmission banana XXX hentai'

'transmission banana XXX hentai'

Damn, that's a good idea.

People like you usually say that we have nothing fear, then when see big brother come knocking you will start blurting out all your rights. "I'm all for this as long as its not done to me."

i'm really not sure if this is comparable in such a way lol

i don't think i'm 'all for this', but i'm p sure i don't care if it's 'done to me' either (but again, i can't generate a full opinion yet, my current thoughts are based on assumption from past events). if it's a bunch of poop, it won't last. there's a long way for a bill to go to become a law and stay a law.

all i know at this point is that the government can already find out anything about me they want, as can any normal person if they want to try hard enough. i don't really care about how the government tries to monitor so long as it doesn't collapse in on itself trying to do it.

Hypocrisy is strong in everyone. A while back Diane Feinstein said that she supported the CIA and NSA, now she is on the news bashing the NSA data gathering. Why? Because apparently she doesn't want the NSA to monitor her and her fellow politicians.

Its like saying you don't want foreign spies in your country, but you already spy on other countries.

What will this bill do? Well, it just reaffirms what the Government has already been doing. It will just be used to justify future monitoring programs.

it's getting struck down again, just wait

CISPA is pretty comparable to when every year, some idiot tries to propose an end to "antipatriotic behavior towards our glorious motherland" by criminalizing the burning of american flags, stating that it's pink hate, not free speech

hopefully it won't pass the senate though, god knows how terrible the supreme court is at making right decisions if they get a chance to repeal it
