Megathread

Hello! Welcome to my megathread. Here, you can discuss websites and stuff associated with that such as Web Hosting.
Current topic: Post your website!

How can I get my own website?

First of all, you need a domain name. Personally I recommend Godaddy.com. They're probably the biggest domain registrar in the world, and their domain names are cheap. I registered mine there.

Second, you need web hosting. There are many ways you can host your website. You can:
  • Order a VPS and set it up there
  • Buy just web hosting (Probably the easiest)
  • Host it at home (Pretty difficult)

Third and most important, you need to make your website. You probably have PHP, MySQL etc on your web server, and all you need to get started is learn coding. This is called web development.
The most important language is HTML. (Hyper Text Markup Language) All websites use that language. To learn HTML and other languages, you don't need to take expensive web dev lessons, you can find many tutorials online. I learned html from this guy named Tinkernut. Here's a link to his tutorial: Click

Can you give us some Web Hosting suggestions?
Sure. I host my website and VPS at DemonVPS. They have a very good offer of 50 cents for a website with 5GB of storage and 100GB of bandwith. I recommend them!
Forumers, post where you host your websites

Forumers' websites:

I know this is a short megathread. Give me ideas on what I should post here!

I own the domain http://thepotato.net but I no longer have a webserver to host with. :cookieMonster:

It seems pretty odd how you have a huge HTML5 logo in the OP and then proceed to link to a website that doesn't use HTML5.

You should really use classes or special stylized h2/h3 elements inside the header. Browsers are not obligated to render your invalid elements.

         <a href="about.html"><img src="btnAbout.png" width=80 height=32/></a> |
         <a href="index.html"><img src="btnHome.png" width=80 height=32/></a>|
         <a href="projects.html"><img src="btnProjects.png" width=100 height=32/></a>

Please don't use images for text buttons.

The HTML5 logo is just to icon websites in general, not my website.

I simply found it easier to use that instead of editing h elements.

I wanted to use a special font

I wanted to use a special font

Load the font using @font-face and specify it normally then.

You try way too hard Port.

What? I'm just saying–it's not 2003 anymore.

Here's some random old thing (I think from about a year ago). I probably have an archive of it somewhere.

I own www.leetlegacy.tk but does not function correctly as I am working on a new base for about 6 months now, and done a total of 1 hour of work on it (actually about 6 I think). It currently looks like this on my HDD:
I don't really like how it looks completely so I sort of want to modify more crap on it, but I'm a lazy little bitch and I have no idea what to change anyway.
There's also the mirror site www.blockhead.x10.mx which is what used the above to be like in the last version, which contains some really silly and dumb things.
