That wouldn't be the first time that a new user had rights he shouldn't have. Around the same time, '08/'09, Badspot accidentally gave a new member full Administrator abilities, and he went and banned a few users.

Would it happen to be this guy? He joined in early/mid 2009. He is quite a mysterious user, being the only one with "No Reporting" as an actual position.

I'm not sure.
I wish I could remember the name, but I was offline when it all happened and heard it about it through drama.
As far as I'm aware Badspot sorted it all out and removed the user, alongwith all their posts. So the entire account might have been removed.
