i can think of a few reasons
like pop out the lenses and replace them with your own if you're lucky
or just pop out the lenses and act like a coolkid
use the screws to amend a small device such as a watch

All that I can think of: We've had a baby stroller and two digital cameras stolen (although one may have fallen into a pond), and my dad has almost gotten hit by drunk drivers before (then he follows them and calls the cops)
