I find it funny that everyone's complaining about how you can buy a purely cosmetic thing with no practical value whatsoever. What exactly is bad about the fact that Steam takes a cut of the money? If you think about it, Steam gave you the emoticon as a reward, and you're selling it. If it was a video game with practical value, I would understand, but it is literally a 64x64 image to paste inside of a chat window. If you're unhappy about buying it, that's your mistake.
