If it's dice, can things be affected by trend, like if you get a long trend of high numbers, a single set of low numbers won't completely forget you over, just affect the direction the war is taking?

For instance, invasion is going really fast, but then the front meets a stalemate or bad weather halt said invasion, instead of huge crushing defeat all of the sudden?

well if its obvious that your military is stronger, the results will reflect that, same with if your enemy is weakened to the point to they have no military
