Author Topic: YES! First release on a record label, super excited! [VIDEO]  (Read 754 times)

Hey all! Recently I made a topic stating that I had recently become a member of Audioland Records, joining our own DJ Mango and YoungRotations. (NOTE: This topic is not supposed to be about the music itself and whether or not you like it or hate it. I get it - some of you think it's crap. If you do, just don't listen to it again. Case closed.)

Tonight, we released my debut single, Nails, which can be heard on YouTube or SoundCloud. Click the YouTube one if you can, I made some cool visuals for it. :)

Anyway, I'm super excited about this - it's my first taste of working professionally in the music industry. This will be the first time I have music uploaded to Spotify and iTunes.

Anywho, I must say thanks to the forumers who have stood by me as I progressed. To name a few:

Couatl
Bloukface
Treynolds (even though the stuff you said was critical, it was taken into consideration and is appreciated)
Everyone in the music megathread
Anyone who follows me on SoundCloud

Thanks forums. If you like the video or song, consider sharing it, too - I'm trying to help Audioland grow as much as possible. :)

Also, here's the artwork for anyone interested. First time I've taken a photo specifically for album art.

I feel like this song is a mess of random sound bits meshed together with one looping track
i understand most music has the looping track to give it rhythm but the sounds don't feel like they're in the right places.

while it's a lot better than before, i do believe you have the potential, just find all the samples that mesh well with a song before throwing in this and that.

music is like a dinner. There are things in a meal that compliment each other and make the meal fantastic.

here's a good example of music similar to yours

Congrats! I have heard some songs you've made on Soundcloud, and I have to say they are all very good. It's unique music.

feels more like mediocre fps music than something i would actually choose to listen to but idk

Wow, this is pretty cool. Nice job!

Yuck it sounds like you made it with one of these things:

I understand what you're saying, but believe it or not some people (myself included) actually enjoy this type of music. It's called "Experimental Drum & Bass" for a reason. Let me give you an example of something that was professionally released that sounds less like "real music" than this.

However, people still like it. I get that many won't enjoy the majority of the music I make. Well, good news! My target audience isn't them.

music |ˈmyo͞ozik|
noun
1 the art or science of combining vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion

This is the definition of music. However, emotion and beauty is subjective, and there is harmony in this track. The point I'm trying to get at is that this is still music - while it might not be in your eyes, it is in others. Remember the whole dubstep fiasco? You either loved it or hated it back when Skrillex was getting started. But the reason why he continued making those tracks was because there ARE people who love it.

Anyway, I didn't create this topic for people to criticize or commend my music. I created it because I wanted to share this milestone.

Yuck it sounds like you made it with one of these things:

>TIGER

Reminds me of Plazma Burst for some reason

Congrats, bro!

Love the background chords on this one, the entire track feels neuro-jungly if I can
Congrats on your first release

Drags on for a bit too long, could use some variation. otherwise okay.

more like nails on a chalkboard amirite

it just sounds like a beat with a synth and some random sounds thrown in

Thanks everybody. To be honest, half of what's kept me going this long has been you guys (whether that be in a positive or negative light, lol).
