You grab the plasma rifle for research and skedaddle.

Back at base, Cobalt 2 and Cobalt 4 are promoted from ROOKIE to SQUADDIE and receive advanced training, improving their stats somewhat and granting them new CLASSES.
Cobalt 2 becomes an ASSAULT and gains the RUN&GUN Trait. This ability allows him to use full time units for movement and then fire a single or burst shot at the end of his movement, or move 5 and then use a full auto spray. Please note that this only applies to Time Units used for movement, he can't use Run and Gun, prime+throw a grenade, and then shoot. He is also able to use SHOTGUNS.
Cobalt 4 becomes a HEAVY GUNNER and gains the SUPPRESSION Trait. This improves his ability to lay down suppressive fire by allowing him a free reaction shot if an enemy he has suppressed tries to move. He is now able to carry MACHINE GUNS.
