You can't. Don't ask me why, it just isn't possible.

A Steam-authenticated dedicated server is not only possible, but it's pretty easy to set up. You just need to create a file in your BL directory and another .bat for startup (and use the -steam argument), then make sure Steam is running and logged in. You can run multiple Blockand dedi-servers on the same machine, if they are using the same Steam account.

Multiple Steam accounts on one OS, however, are not possible. I've thoroughly tested this stuff when I was developing HammerHost.

like everyone else said, not possible.

Of course not. A Steam-authenticated dedicated server is not only possible, but it's not too hard to set up. he's talking about there's no way to do it right now.

-snip-
Hmm. I asked Greek2me a few a months back and he told me it wasn't possible. I knew he is a trustworthy source and took he word for it.

I was saying it is possible! My hosting service does this right now.
I modified my post now to make it clear.

Oh, it didn't mean to sound like I still thought it wasn't possible. It was my post that wasn't clear.

It's not properly possible. Hammer recently publicized that method.

You can't host a dedicated server via steam. You need a key, which, steam doesn't have a key.

You can; all you need to do is run Steam and BL at the same time. That's how the dedicated server Steam authentication works. However, you must keep Steam running. If you don't, the BL server will exit once a player joins.

But Greek, you are right: it's not properly possible and Blockland dedi-servers were probably not designed to run with Steam. But it works, although the method for doing so is inconvenient. I am also researching a way for HammerHost to service Steam users.

What do I do with the first file?
can you please message me on what you are talking about
im going to lock this topic

it'd be nice if you can stop holding secrets from us
i actually really want to make my own server you know, for my gamemode and stuff

apparentally its "hammerhost confidential" information
so its a private and shady method?
you're not like breaking the law telling me this
im not going to go to the "cyberpolice" and tell them that a stranger sent me a shady method on how to make something work in blockland correctly
it'd be nice if you contribute, rather than keep things away
