Author Topic: If you are still in school/college, what are you learning about?  (Read 1254 times)

right now we're just studying for finals. the school year has pretty much wrapped up for us and everything is pretty chill now, some classes don't even have finals. the classes that do have them are pretty much just giving super easy "i don't want to grade this stuff" tests: jrotc is just taking a repeat, common sense test; my english teacher is giving her first ever multiple choice test; the algebra teacher couldn't be assed to come up with an open response item; our economics teacher had back surgery a few weeks ago and so the replacement teacher doesn't have any work for us; etc. it's nice because i'd like to just do fun stuff in class but it's also disappointing because the kids at this school aren't being challenged at all and that's probably why the education here is so stuffty.

why romeo and juliet is still relevant
our english teacher felt that romeo and juliet was stupid and held no literary significance, so we read macbeth instead.

why, why would anyone...

why, why would anyone...
well literary significance as in we couldn't learn any literary devices from it, i'm guessing
she's the one with a degree in shakespeare, not me. i thought that macbeth was pretty interesting, though

two more days and i might fail this year so maybe summer school for me
i just finished my fifth year of highschool and still managed to be .5 credits short

hello online class

I got an A in law class and liked it a lot. My teacher said I was definetly the smartest student in that class. I got a 98% on my final and with all four other tests of the semester my lowest grade was an 89%
Since my mom wants me to do something worthwhile during the summer I'm looking into computer classes for web/software development and/or coding

i have two required classes and my loving school wont let me go home early

Pff, implying I learn anything in school.

It's second semester senior year. My three classes are Weight Training, English 12, and an elective called Business Management.

Weight Training is nonacademic. I've taken honors and AP level English since like 6th grade, so English 12 is a joke. Business Management is surprisingly nonacademic, the most recent thing we did was host an event at which we tried to see how much money we could make by brainstorming ideas. We also run the campus cafe.
