Author Topic: What is the oldest Windows OS that supports Blockland?  (Read 1977 times)

I'm guessing this has been asked many times, but search results are coming up empty for me.  When I bought Blockland in 2008, I got it for Windows XP.  I happen to have an old WindowsMe computer without Internet connection capabilities, so it won't be used for that, but I was wondering if it can be installed and run single player?

Blockland ran in my Windows 98. A problem you could face (as I've had) could be video memory limits. Seems like 8MBs isn't enough.

I  tried it on 97. Doesnt work on 97.

He must have typed 98 but missed. I can confirm it works on a Windows 98, Intel CPU with 600MHz, 256MBs of RAM and a GPU with at least 64MBs of VRAM.

I can confirm that Blockland does indeed run on Windows 98 after the Y2K update.

Why would you even want to use anything older than XP?

Windows 97?
windows 97 is a super top secret version of windows

it came after 95 and before 98

Why would you even want to use anything older than 8?

whoops, meant to say 98.

Because Windows 8 looks stupid.

No it doesn't. Have you even used it? If not, then you're in no position to say how it is to use it.

I thought it looked stupid at first too. I'm getting it probably this week though

I don't use 8 because my 7 works perfectly fine and I'm not going to spend $100 just to say I'm using a newer version
