Author Topic: One Shell Square, New Orleans, LA  (Read 6892 times)

Well I was marching in a Mardi Gras parade back in February, and I saw One Shell Square as we marched by it. I thought it would look pretty cool in BL. Apparently, my family has some history here. My grandfather worked here for an extremely long time. And since it's been an entire year since I've made a significant build, I figured I'd contribute to the Blockland world again.

And before you say it looks like the World Trade Center or give it a 9/11, just know that almost all office buildings built around the time period this one was all looked like the WTC. So yeah.

Rate x/10.

To give you a sense of the 1/1 scale I made this in, the little red dot in the picture is covering more than all of my avatar. One Shell Square is the tallest building in New Orleans.

I'm stuck between the idea of 1/1 scale model buildings; most are bland, and at most, are basically pillars with little windows between them.
Still, 10/10 great detail.
what's the brickcount?

46,574. And thanks for the rate man.

Impressive! You should try to make New York's Chrysler Building next! I bet you'll do excellently with it.

Thanks man! I'm currently working on a personal project that means a lot to me (but it's stalled due to the roof being hard to build), and then I want to finish downtown New Orleans around this. But it's on my list.

Looks nice, i like these builds :3 7/10

8/10

Maybe add some trees and lamp posts out the front?

I noticed this is on a raised baseplate. Are you planning on putting sewers/basements in buildings?

Yeah, I was. I said earlier that I was planning on attempting to recreate the rest of the New Orleans Central Business District, with the Superdome and all the trimmings. It's pretty ambitious though. I'm excited to see how it turns out.

No, it's not. I think that place is based off of Esplanade mall or Lakeside mall
