No one gives a stuff how many times a topic has been made. People only care when a topic is recreated when the original is still active.
There's no reason for giving a topic a version number, real or fake.

And putting in stupid messages in the version number is akin to spamming in the topic title.

Evidently it is. There are people who find it a nuisance and we have the right to point it out and give our opinions. This is no different to the topics on individual users posting signatures, or using coloured text, or different font sizes, or having MLP avatars, or pretending to be animals.

It's spammy, stupid and obnoxious.
Other's might not agree, but that doesn't mean you should come in here and dismiss the entire topic.
Would you rather the people who disliked this went around arguing in every topic, or we held a sensible discussion in one place?

that image does not apply in this situation. i seriously hate it when someone makes a valid point and then some idiot (Zanaran) comes in and posts some overused image in order to feel superior. making one thread to complain about 300 stupid threads is not a problem at all, especially when people are agreeing with the topic.

basically by your logic: anyone complaining about a problem = AIDING THE PROBLEM
it's just such a dumb thing to say. for all you know someone might avoid using version number once they realize it's bothering people. a complaining thread could very well help fix the problem. don't immediately jump in like a moron and post that image every time someone makes a thread complaining about other threads.

this isn't really drama. what zanaran posted was dumb but this is such a small trivial thing, it shouldn't really upset you. i usually feel like when people are angered by small trivial problems it's their fault, and they should just realize that it doesnt really matter.

i agree it's kinda dumb but i'm not upset over it. what does it change? you can still tell what the topic is about, which is basically the point of the thread title in the first place.
