But just a tip for you since you are starting on a bicycle:

Dont be afraid to fall on your face, otherwise you will fall on your face.

Also, how old are you OP? (I forgot who the OP was and didn't bother checking who made the topic :/)

Caribou, 15-16 pretty sure.

biking's fun as stuff

I saw somebody crashed on a bike today. I drove by him laying in the street so I put my lights on and stopped to see if he needed medical attention. He was just shooken up but was basically uninjured. Not wearing a helmet though so I definitely recommend wearing one.

Biking is a lot of fun
A couple weeks back I did a 20+ mile bike trip around this huge lake
If I had a lot of money I'd get a couple of nice mountain bikes and maybe a BMX bike too

No offense but I dont think you need a bike tutor

At your age you could probably sit on a bike and start riding without "learning"

I've tried, I couldn't do it.

I'm 15 and a half.

It takes a while to learn but when you get the hang of it you don't even have to think about anything

Have good time.
Be safe.

i'm considered alien to my parents because i never bothered learning how to ride a bike

i think the last time i rode one was when i was 4, in the nearby church's parking lot. i got scraped up quite a bit after falling many times.

are those v brakes

cause v brakes are good brakes

Anyway, I have some Trek 8 something something, pretty good, but it's a bit small for me now (I'm 6'). Also, it has some trouble shifting. I really enjoy biking, I should start doing it again... I love this one stretch of bike path near my house that's a decently steep drop. I always go full speed down it, it's insane. :P

My dad used to really love bikes, he even worked at a bike shop before. He still likes them, but he's not nearly as involved with them as he used to be.

Anyone ever been actually mountain biking?

I have! :)

Here's my bike:

Fiji Nevada, bought it $40 used, tore it apart completely, fixed it up, painted it black and blue, and reassembled it. It's a super-light bike, too - I can easily pick it up with one hand.

Mine was almost $900 because I used to hike up mountains and ride down their trails with friends pretty often. I don't do it much anymore but I try to get out every once in a while.
