Author Topic: My shiv  (Read 1626 times)

So i tried making a glass shiv, but i haven't finished it so i want people to ridicule my work.
NOTE:
The shiv it meant to be glass wrapped with cloth to form a grip; also, this is unfinished
(1 pic of blade, and 2 pics for each side of the grip)

This should probably go in the 3D model topic.

Anyway, it seems pretty good imo, but something about the glass doesn't seem right. I guess it doesn't exactly look like broken glass. But that's just my opinion.

the problem with the glass part is that glass does not shatter like that, make the end of it straight instead of blocky.
Nice work anyway, I like the cloth wrap :)

i think you should smoothshade the cloth wrap
but definitely prioritize on fixing the clipping parts of the model

I've barely used the forum so sorry for the mess up.

Agreed.

Anyways, AgentCake, you did a good job!

I could use a shiv for my zombie project im working on. Barely had any progress on it, but I could still use it.

I assume you mean flatshade, but I think the cloth wrap is unnecessarily high poly

i meant smoothshade so it looks smooth all around
if you flatshaded it then wouldn't all the faces stick out more?

That is what low poly smooth shading looks like. If you want it smoother then you bump up the poly count.
