Author Topic: Help with 32 inch tv  (Read 1251 times)

I am planning on hooking up my computer to my 32 inch tv, the tv itself is supposed to be 1080p because thats how it is on cable
I hooked up hdmi from my card to the tv and it locks at 1366x768 and if i put it higher the screen gets fuzzy and zooms in
can someone help because i know this tv should be doing 1080p because thats how it works on cable
The tv is a samsung btw

TVs are known to be a pain in the ass with that sort of thing.

I guess some people fix it by going in to the menu of the TV, and changing the aspect ratio to 1:1 or something like that.

the weird thing is it gets fuzzy as i switch to 1920x1080
if its 1366x768 it looks perfectly fine

Can you tell me the model of the TV? Some TVs say "Supports 1080p" but it's native resolution is lower, and it just compresses 1080p to fit on the native resolution. It just has the 1080p option so they can market it as 1080p.

If that's the case you're stuck with the lower resolution.

I cant
the tv is currently not hooked up to the computer and it takes literally 30 minutes to get the cords around from where my computer is now to the tv so its a pain in the ass
i might do something tomorrow to show you
but basically it zooms in the screen a little with the taskbar clipped off and it gets fuzzy kinda a little bit
i see comcast
so what
hd channels and stuff yo

It's common for 32" TV's to be 1366x768 rather than 1920x1080, it's a random pain in the ass but it's true.  There are some out there that do have 1920x1080, but some, not all.  TV's also can create some strange color issues when being a monitor for a PC, can take some configuration but is by-passable.
