If there is enough documentation on the forums for me to use it very basically then I will. If not, i'm happy to pay the premium for windows.

Not at all, I use a VNC that allows me to remotely control it like this, it's basically like using windows.

That was the CityRPG mod and a bug when buying lots, my server has been up for days without a crash. Personally i'd just go with the second package so you don't have any issues.
