I actually like hockey but my mom ruins it
if we're being serious

The greatest moment is defo not hockey or basketball if you're talking about the greatest moment of the world.

I was at this game game. It was amazing, being a die hard Uconn fan since I was a kid.

Not the greatest moment in sports history but it's still awesome.

What would it be, then?

The catch
That was a big one.

I still think that, worldwide, the 1980 US Olympic hockey team's win over the Soviets was bigger.

Prob some olympic stuff because all the other sports aren't that universal, nobody cares about hockey victories in Europe

The Olympics are watched worldwide, even hockey. In fact, that was probably one of the most watched events at that time because it was the Soviets facing off against the Americans in hockey, the ultimate team sport.

To add onto this, for a lot of people, even nowadays, hockey is the only event they watch in the winter Olympics. There isn't really another event in the winter Olympics that a large group of people focuses on. You don't see tons of people tuning in to the Olympics to just watch the luge.

So basically you created this thread to tell us how great that one moment was, not for us to share our best moments?

Fantastic thread.
