Does this sound like music or ear rape?(EAR RAPE WARNING) How about this?(AGAIN, EAR RAPE WARNING)
I cannot determine a meaning or point from these songs other than an enjoyment of going deaf. I don't like post-hardcore because of the crushed nut vocals and the generic riffs, but I can determine a meaning or purpose to exist from the few songs I've heard. I don't like Nickelback because they're generic and boring, but I can recognize them as music. Same for A$AP's Rocky and Ferg, boring as stuff, but I still consider them music. The the first track I linked I can't even consider music, the second just barely, only because there's a discernible drum beat that the other instrumentalists don't even stay on. They're literally both just noise. There's no point in defending the existence of either other than to obliterate ears and scare the piss out of people with.

I wouldn't be so sure; I really like the first one, and it definitely exists because of someone's musical vision.  Just because you think nobody can or should like something, or that it has no value, doesn't mean that nobody can or should like something, and should believe it has no value too.

(I do hate the second one though, the researchogrind I've heard seems to exist to be offensive and for shock value, there's no musical/artistic merit to that imo; that intention really comes through for me when I try to listen to it)

PS Thanks for introducing me to Prurient, I'm really enjoying them so far

1. I personally can't dig it, it's someone's vision, but of what? Any value it has is obscured by the extreme, harsh noise, but that's just me in that area.
2. Fully agreed.
3. I enjoy his industrial works but can't dig what he (or anyone for that matter) does noise wise.

The only things that really piss me off are

People who are fake as forget
People that argue constantly for no reason
People that are close minded
People who can't listen to anyone's opinion but their own without throwing a temper tantrum
People who are just irrational and are like "Shut up I'm right because I think I'm right"
Most of all, those who can't take jokes and take the most sarcastic or handicapped thing seriously

The vision is in the extreme harsh noise; the aesthetic is what lends it what substance it has. The feeling associated with both of your examples is extremely clear.

Both sides of Prurient build wonderful atmospheres with noise or with synthesizers, and I like that :P  I just don't like tracks like Military Road, which seem to revel in being noise with no purpose.  I guess the point is that music has to have intent behind it.

That "music" is the audio equivalent of a cheese grater. The only person who would like it is Furdle.

When people make grammar mistakes, thinking that it's correct grammar.

Everyone at my school

he obviously meant people who think they're using correct grammar when they're not

he wasn't trying to be proper himself, much like myself at the moment
