do you actually meet other people and shoot them?
because I will loving hate that if some "badass" guy with an alliance-collective fleet of 100 ships steamrolls through everyone to the center of the universe

No you do not. The developer stated it's far from an MMO, so you wont just die from random players it seems, of course this also means you wont be able to explore with friends. Not enough information on exactly how everything's going to work has been released, he mentioned some player interaction but I don't know what that means exactly if it isn't just a massive server.

i'd love to be optimistic, but it'll turn out just as spore did. endless vistas of vast, random expanses....and you could give less of a forget about any of it because none of it makes any difference.
there were some civilizations shown methinks
they were rectangular and black

Sony winning E3 this year is a joke, right?

lol that was pre-rendered as forget

unless they designed the gameplay to look like fake stuff

lol

Of course it was pre-rendered.
The game is still in heavy development. What are they supposed to show you? Lines of code? Concept art?

it bothers me because they say it's a "gameplay" trailer

"gameplay" trailers usually imply footage of actually playing the actual game.

Apparently it's not pre-rendered.

Our new trailer is just one example of a story that can play out in No Man’s Sky. We wanted to show how it’s a game without limits, and over the past few months since showing off the game for the first time at VGX we’ve added so much to it. Hundreds of new procedural systems are creating new forms of life, amazing geological formations and patterns of vegetation.
Exploring the galaxy to find locations to shoot for the trailer and seeing the fruits of our little team’s work has been just amazing, so we couldn’t resist also making a montage of places we’ve found.

All these are just a tiny taste of all the things you’ll see and do when you start your adventure, just a little sample from the edge of the galaxy. Even we don’t quite know what you’ll find deeper in.
And finally, welcome to our new website. We’ll be sharing much more about No Man’s Sky here over the coming months. If you want to keep up with our news, you can also subscribe to our brand-new newsletter, or follow us on Twitter.
Thank you all, so much.

well tickle my titties and call me clyde
