Author Topic: Server ping is ---, trying to join just produces "connecting to [IP] forever"  (Read 1829 times)

This issue came from nowhere and has been around for 2 days now.

The reason I'm posting it here is that not only am I having this issue, I know 2 people who are having the exact same problem after being able to host with no issues (i.e. JakeBlade, Klark) and was wondering if anyone else was getting this. Hopefully, it gets fixed; we're all kind of anxious to be able to host servers again.

I forwarded my ports and was able to host without problems before, but now it just doesn't work anymore.

It happened a few days ago, the day before it started I could host with no problem.
I did not change anything about my mods, didn't disable or enable any of them.
help?

I get this once awhile. I haven't forwarded my ports, though. Most of the time it still works. If I get the issue, I just restart my router or my computer, and it seems to fix it.

Check if your firewall is blocking Blockland.exe.

It's not that. If it is already on the internet, it doesn't need to be unblocked since it already isn't blocked.

I get this sometimes too. I'm usually able to host using just UpnP just fine. However, I still sometimes lose that ability every now and again, and it won't come back for a month or two. The solution I assume would be to port-forward so you don't need to rely on UpnP. Unfortunately AT&T thought it would be funny to send us a router that had the default admin password changed, and nobody can apparently tell us what the admin password is. No luck for me there.

I think I also had this issue. I could host limitedly without having my ports forwarded until about two days ago when it just stopped and did exactly what the OP said.

However, I put the effort in to actually port forward and now everything works fine.
My topic is still in help in case it might help you.

Still happening after we all forwarded our ports.

I'm guessing matchmaker issue? Fix would be very much appreciated.

Does it say "no matches" in console?

So either hard reset it with the reset button in the back (you might have to hold it in for a while, my dad's takes like 30 seconds) or buy your own
I've had my own modem and router for several years and I've never had equipment related issues
