Author Topic: I don't understand Age-Rating Systems  (Read 878 times)

So in a PG-13 movie, someone can walk into a room and kill a bunch of people. As long as not too much blood is shown, it's fine. If two people have love, it'll be rated R.
... so which is more appropriate in real life?

Not to mention it's kinda dumb that content showing love (or just research) is purely 18+, but you can legally have love once your 16.
So apparently, 16-17 year olds can have love, but they can't look at it. Right.

isn't that only in a few states?

isn't that only in a few states?
The age of consent is 18 in 11 states, but that still leaves 39 (the vast majority) where is is 16 or 17.

okay, i thought i might have had my number of states backwards.
darn california

don't wanna spoil their innocence!!!

People who care about the ratings are moe handicapped than the ratings themselves.

The average person gets no gratification from the murdering of random characters.

The average person, conversely, does get gratification from seeing random characters naked or having love.

I remember I played a ton of Teen rated games when I was like 7 or 8 and I turned out fine.

Then again, you do jerk off to bird research.

You turned into a bird though.

You must have played some forgeted up game that made you transform from a child to a bird with a wizard's hat.

You're not helping the argument.

It's the opposite case in Great Britain :o

In movies:

America likes violence/gore, shuns nudes

Great Britain likes nudes, shuns violence/gore.
