Author Topic: A Rare Look Inside North Korea  (Read 1463 times)

Huh, it doesn't look like life there is as hellish as people say it is. Really the only issue is the political indoctrination.

Oh yeah I got re-interested in North Korea a couple weeks ago. They've got some nice concentration camps.

These people are probably the privileged bunch who get to live in the capital because they're loyal to dear leader. The rest are off starving some place.

do you count concentration camps and famine as political indoctrination

Well I was just looking at the pictures :P

A few weeks ago I read an illustrated series by a French Canadian guy who drew out and explained his whole experience in North Korea. He was there doing computer animation of some sort, for a TV series.

I wish I could find it again, it was really interesting

north korea:
half the population of south korea
1/20th of the economy

also your average american gets indoctrinated quite a lot during childhood too

yeah, i was thinking of this too

north korea's "privileged" live in stuffty apartments anyway and the healthcare is still relatively handicapped
i remember watching a documentary about some volunteer doctors going there to perform cataracts operations which the doctors there weren't able to do because of the lack of proper equipment and training

and of course after they could all see they went to the visage of the dear leader and his father and praised them for letting them see again

There is actually a documentary on Netflix about a few Americans who literally DEFECTED to North Korea. It also goes in depth about the average North Korean lifestyle.

It's called "Crossing the Line" if anyone is interested.
