Author Topic: I got to use a welder from WWII today  (Read 624 times)

So today in shop class, our arc welder broke. So our metal shop teacher let us use some 76 year old stick welders from 1938. Suprisingly they worked better than the brand new miller stick welder the school baught last year. The school owns about 5 of these things and they are loving awesome. They make this strange buzzing noise when you weld, and you can feel the power these things have. Another thing is that the school hasn't purchased welding rods in twenty years so all the welding rods are like 20+ years old.

Cool! I wonder why they'd have such old equipment, though...

but WWII started 1939 :cookieMonster:
