Author Topic: i can't find my DNS address thing.  (Read 1975 times)

i can't find my DNS thing. I would show you a screen shot of the page, but i don't know how. Sad

my modem type is ZyXel Prestige 600 series. i have a router, but it's dead, and doesn't work.

the tutorial didn't help much. i got stuck at step 1C and step 1D. i can't find the tabs, nor the DNS.

can someone help me or at least give me a hint like tell me what "DNS" means? :panda:

damn it you douche bags, i want help!

You are a loving idiot.  Any meat sack with opposable thumbs can use Wikipedia.

A DNS IP address is assigned to your internet connection so that your computer knows how to translate www.google.com into 216.239.51.104.

You can find your DNS server on Windows by pressing WinKey + R, typing "command" (without quotes) and clicking "OK".  When the command prompt appears, type 'ipconfig /all" (without quotes) and press enter.  Then look through the list of information for a property entitled "DNS Server".

In the future, please refrain from being an idiot.

Also, don't EVER bump a topic within a day. You should've waited AT LEAST a week before bumping.

thanks, but actually, i use wikipedia all the time. i just didn't know if it was the right thing to use to get help on this.

oh, stuff.

sorry for double post, but now, i can't find one of those many lines that the "tutorial" showed, and i don't see ANYTHING that looks like a tab and says "port forwarding".

remember, my modem type is "ZyXel Prestige 600 series".

Yeah, you can call your router manufacturer for help with that, or search their website.

Or you can have someone do it for you.

Don't help idiots who won't help themselves.

I'm not so sure you comprehend the meaning of "douche bag".  I imagine once you stop acting like a forgettard, people will be more inclined to help you.

Justin, don't call people who are trying to help you 'douche bags', please. :(

well, you do got a point there. thank you.
