Author Topic: File explorer's been acting odd for a while now.  (Read 337 times)

alright so when I first got this computer in January, it was good as new, everything was fine, etc, etc.. And then one day, a couple months within getting it, it died and crashed.

We managed to restore it, but I had lost everything I had. So I began re-installing everything.

However, ever since we managed to get it running again after the crash, everything that it has to do with file explorer is odd.

Most of the time when trying to open non-extracted files in my folder, it freezes and my computer slows down horribly and I have to restart. I don't know why. I didn't really look much into this, since I could just extract them in the same place.

Also, file explorer seems to act slow most of the time too. And I just recently installed Winrar. When trying to open with Winrar, most of the time it does the exact same as I just mentioned.

honestly you should just consider re installing windows if you're having issues after restoring a copy of windows that had problems that severe

i've been considering this, but it'd be a massive pain to reinstall everything again

actually, i just remembered, we did re-install windows

after the crash, we had to install vista and upgraded it to Windows 7, then used a windows 8.1 restore that came with the computer
