That's it. Rp over, brother can't fist bump.
Fine I can't stop.
Ask bernie what's are we planning next?

Tom sits down with Charles, counting the supplies.  Charles seems to be pointing at the tarps, saying something about them.  You sit down on a crate and start poking at the ground with a stick, drawing a map of Utopia.

It's situated on a peninsula that broadens at the base and at the end, with a slightly narrower range of hills in between.  At the western end of the peninsula, at the end, there is Victory City, or rather the ruins of it.  Redwood Cove to the East, of Victory City, also in ruins.  The Greenwood Borough, to the south, in ruins, and finally Sugarcane Beach, the high-end south west borough of Victory City.  The area was enclosed in a huge wall shortly before the worst happened.  To the southeast, near the neck of the peninsula is Auburn, a small town midway through the island.  The FF had not attacked this area, let alone any area with significant force such as was seen at Victory City.  Finally, in the East, near the border is Vaughton, a heavy industry and shipping city.  There are numerous other small towns, but this is all that is seen.  At the eastern border, UN forces have kept Utopia secluded from the rest of the world.  No one enters, no one leaves, though some escape by boat.

The hills are home to a large forest.  There are many groups of survivors hidden here.  Most of them are indeed unfriendly, but some are indifferent.  The FF has under several occasions tried to invade the forest to clear any threats, but each time it has been unsuccessful.  It is at times like these that the survivors unite, shake hands, do away with the FF scum, divide up the spoils left behind by them, and go about their way.  You wish it would happen more often.

There is a rail line heading through the forest from VC, to Vaughton, and while the FF tried to weaponize trains and extinguish any rebellions, the rebels were quick to demolish the railways so that the FF could not get to Vaughton or Auburn.

You finish drawing the mildly elaborate map when steel-toed boots trample on top of it.

Michael:  "WHAT THE FU-"
Aliza:  "Take it."

You look up.  Aliza is looking away from you, but holding out your rusty nail club.

"Thanks" you say hesitantly, thoroughly annoyed by that lady's rudeness as you take the club from her hand.

Ask bernie what's are we planning next?

You decide to get up and talk to Bernie.

"Hey Bernie?"
"Yeah?" he says, still poking at the fire, not turning away, entranced by its glowing embers.
"What's planned up next?"
"We'll discuss it at the meeting tonight."

With that, there's nothing for you to really do.  Charles and Tom are inspecting the bounty, Aliza seems to be keeping guard, and Burnie is now setting up a kettle for boiling water to sterylize it.

Inspect the camp.

If you see a lizard, capture it and name it "Lizzy"

Also, if you do find "Lizzy" keep it on either your shoulder or head.

Inspect the camp.

If you see a lizard, capture it and name it "Lizzy"
You take another look around the camp.  Tom and Charles are arranging boxes into different piles.  On the far right is semi-perishable food– bread, flour, etc.  On the near right is perishable food– cheeses, fruits, meats, etc.  On the near left is clothing and cloth.  In the far left, construction materials and tools.

The camp has an interesting shape.  There's the first alcove outside, and a second alcove where the camp is.  The first alcove is a simple canyon, about 20 feet deep at most.  The canyon seems to trail off into a cave that wanders for about 1000 feet.  This cave, however short, has all sorts of winding tunnels and old worn down mining equipment.  The second alcove at the end of the cave is a star-like shape, with clefts of rock on each side.  Large slabs of rock cover the central gathering area, and provide plenty of shade, even during the heat of the day.  Three corners at their ends continue into underground cave systems.  This is helpful when it rains, as water often drains away.  The second alcove floor is at its deepest, around 60 feet from the lowest part of the rim.

The whole area outside of this area is rocky; you're atop a tall hill, though not the tallest hill for sure.

You have a sudden desire to have a reptilian friend.  The area around it is a thick temperate and evergreen forest.  Your mother once took you to the reptile exhibit in Victory City's zoo.  It was the first time you saw any sort of lizard.  They don't really live around here.

Everything seems to darken.  It's going to rain.  Tom and Charles begin to grab shovels from the construction pile in a hurry, shaping out the already set up trenches that were dug to carry away excess rainwatwater Bernie, who had by now begun to set up cooking ware for dinner, had now decided that pots and pans would better be used for collecting water.

It is quite possible that when stuff happened, animal life could have escaped from the zoo and became an invasive species within the wild.

Anyway, agree with barnaby and set up pots and pans everywhere to collect water and store it away. The trench could still be made if it's a bad storm.

It's possible, though you doubt any reptiles survived.  Utopia has experienced two rounds of its normal snowy winters.  Plus, they might have been eaten by hungry survivors.

You begin to walk over to Bernie when Tom shouts for you to lend him a hand, holding up a shovel.  Oh well, it looks like Aliza was going to help Bernie anyway.

A cold gust of wind brushes your face.  It's July.  This is going to be bad.  Really bad.

You jog on over to where Tom and Charles are digging.  Tom tosses you a shovel.

Tom (slightly out of breath):  "Hurry, we only have ten minutes, twenty tops."
Mike:  "Right."

You begin digging away at the trenches.  Each is about two feet deep, and a foot wide.  In some places, they are spanned by boards so that you can walk over them.  You continue to shape up these trenches.  You hardly notice that the wind has picked up when some of Bernie's cooking ware begins to move around.

Aliza and Bernie quickly set the pots back with weights in them.

You look up at the sky.  It's dark, even though it can't be past noon.  You hear the thunder roll over the landscape outside and bouncing around in the Alcove.  You have to act fast.  You decide to work at digging around the tent-hut-things along the sides of the Alcove.  You work at this for a while when a raindrop strikes your cheek.

Is there gonna be a tornado?

Is there gonna be a tornado?
It doesn't seem likely since you are in an alcove at the top of a large hill situated in a range of forested hills.

Alright. Dig the trench then run for cover.

Alright. Dig the trench then run for cover.
You begin shaping up the trench around the gathering hut, but before you're finished, the rain is coming down hard.  Tom and Charles rush inside.  Tom grabs you by the arm as he passes by, and pulls you in.

Tom:  "What are ya, stupid?  You're gonna catch a cold out there."

You don't argue.  You believe that you probably were reckless.

The visible pots and pans outside are already overflowing, and the trenches are already draining the water that lands into the alcove, or is flowing down the walls.

Tom and Charles are already soaked, as well as you.  Bernie and Aliza seem to have made it in before the rain started.  Bernie hands you a towel, and goes back to chopping some bits of expended meat up for making a broth.

Luckily, it's dry in here.  The wind howls through the canyon walls.

Calmly observing, you are scared silly when lightning strikes the ridge of the alcove, not 100 feet away.

Michael:  "stuff!"

Tom and Charles chuckle lightly at this, though Aliza laughs cooly to herself.  You really do not like her.

Time travel to tomorrow.

(AKA sleep)

It's noon.

There's no where where you can really sleep in the main hut since it is crowded with some crates, a fire, a water tank, and a few plastic crates and overturned wooden boxes often used as chairs.

Unfortunately, it would be a bad idea to go to your tent at this time.

Charles begins talking to Bernie about cooking.  Both of them were chefs before the collapse.

"Hey Bernie.  Whatcha cookin' there?"
"Making a broth.  Can't afford to waste the bits we don't eat– all the tendons and such."
"For dinner?"
"Yeah."
"Boy, do I wish we had some potatoes."
"I agree.  Without them we really can't make a proper stew."

You decide to interject, "I saw some potatoes down at the warehouse, but they were rotten and covered in God-knows-what–"
"Wait, did you grab the spuds?"
, Charles asks looking surprised.
"No.  Was I supposed to?"

Charles paces around for a bit, and Bernie sighs and goes back to checking the water.

"Yeah, if you have some good spuds, you can plant potatoes."

Yup, you messed up.  Well, in your defense, you didn't know that you were supposed to take them.  And what is a spud anyways?

Check your boots. Small enough spuds might've fallen in there. (pls let there be spud). If no spud, offer to go back to warehouse for spud.

Nope.  Not a one.

The rain begins to turn to a rain/hail mix.
