people hate Mcafee and im not sure why. Its honestly a good antivirus for a reasonable price. It was really helpful and I never got a single virus when using it.

No, really. The way it's designed is just bad for anyone who doesn't have a good powerhouse computer (most laptops, which it always seems preinstalled on). File transfers take twice the time they should because it scans through all actively transferring data, which is way overkill if your system is already bottlenecked by drive read speed.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus is pretty expensive but is much more powerful than AVG or Avast or anything like that

if you buy it it has active protection

Avast is probably the best free solution

I have a mix of MSE and Malwarebytes Pro. And since I dual boot with OSX Sophos also scans all my drives. So yea.

Avast is great for free software.

Have any of you tried official Microsoft stuff? it's pgood
