Author Topic: Help with getting PC.  (Read 1966 times)

Hello forums I need help getting a new computer for my birthday, My family is poor and we can't afford much. But my father may be able to pitch in and help.
I would say I would like a budget bellow 1000, but its okay if we have to go beyond that. Can you guys recommend me a good computer that can run modern games like Far Cry 3 or DayZ? Also one that can run high or max shaders on big builds without lagging on Blockland.
I really appreciatec

Are you willing to build a desktop? You'll save tons of money and it's actually kinda fun if you're at all into it. Only takes about an hour to build it once you have the parts.

Yeah of course! I just need help with it since I've never done it.

Okay then. I'll draw up a list of parts. Do you have brand any preferences like Intel vs AMD or Nvidia vs AMD etc?

Also, should this aim to be fully finished immediately or would you like it to have room for upgrades and expansions later on?

Well, The computer I am currently on (Not mine) is a Nvidia and it seems pretty nice. I guess I could go with that.

If he wants to game and budgets at 1k I would just assume we suggest all amd

Good point, I would only care whatever is quality, as long as it isn't too expensive

I have an acer xc-105 desktop wich is 500 euro, plenty ram and nice prosessor. Only graphic card sucks.

Yeah, AMD is much better for budget builds. Some people prefer Intel and Nvidia due to slightly higher manufacturing standards and a few new technologies they boast. Ultimately the higher quality manufacturing doesn't end up mattering because the computer will be obsolete anyways by the time the AMD stuff starts breaking down, little point in investing in something that lasts longer than you'll ever use it.

Probably room for upgrades and expansions, Just in case something goes wrong (like my last PC)

mate if your budget is anything just below 1k you're not poor
if your family can't afford to give your children 10 dollars a month like mine, you're poor

The reason why I said that is because, My mother and my brother is poor. But my father can pitch in since he isn't. I don't live with my father either so he isn't really "Family" even though I'm related to him.

Also thank you pecon!
