How do you know if it's the right person? The real one might be sitting at his/her desk laughing right now at this conclusion. The attack still has not stopped and the attack is very elaborate and planned out. The attack is also highly specific and attacks a hammerhost server. Based on what he's saying and the fact that the attack is still going on, I don't think this is the right person. He might be lying about it or talking about some other DoS attack unrelated to this one.

I just want to know, was this a one person DDoS who just popped up cmd and went like "ping -t -l 65000 ip.add.res" or was this a sophisticated zombie ddos.

Well, until we figure out who did the attack, I'm staying away from him. I don't trust a word he's saying at this point.
Sadly for him, even if it wasn't him, Badspot already revoked his key.
At least, that's what Firecro is saying.

i dont think firecro is smart enough to have a botnet

I just want to know, was this a one person DDoS
The correct term is DoS.
DDoS would be several people/zombies, hence 'Distributed'.

A sophisticated zombie attack.

A sophisticated zombie attack.
I cant tell if your being sarcastic or not.

Thankyou for the correction. Its duly noted. My question was if the attack was a DoS or a DDoS

A sophisticated zombie attack.

There's more brilliance in this post than meets the eye.

It was most likely a DoS attack. I doubt firecro has the time or money to acquire the services of a botnet.

I meant that the downtime is caused by an actual DDoS, from hundreds of UDP reflectors, and not just a simple script-kiddie DoS. It is very complicated to defend against something like this.

He probably did rent a botnet then.

How do you know for sure it's Firecro?
