Also, Question @ wedge, how did you make the picture that's in your Steam profile? It's very pretty and I would like to try :D

Ok, I started with a picture.


I redraw the subject in inkscape.


I add details in inkscape. I also corrected the shadows on the decal.



I rescale it and I export it as a .png file.


I open it up in GIMP and add effects.


And that's the finished product.

And here are the two I use on steam, minus the ugly artifacts steam adds.

Whoa. I has inkscape and gimp and I can't use them in the least. I suck at modeling and drawing, come to think of it i suck at using computers.

By Redraw do you mean you went over the edges manually or is there a tool that does it for you?

I used Paint.NET and just used the line tool to do my avatar.
