"Is masculine culture toxic for boys?"
this is another good one
Stopped the video at, "teaching them to be a gentleman brings out the best in males".

What a load of conservative bullstuff. Males and females should be taught alike to respect others, males shouldn't have to be taught a special code of chivalry.

Every single one of these god damn threads could be ended with this one quote:
The only thing that should be associated with any specific person is their ability to lead, create, and/or think; their ideas and personality; and their judgement. Race, love, nationality, ethnicity, creed, etc; are all repugnant ways to judge people.

What humanity needs to understand is that we are a species with variation so far out the ass in so many different ways that it is literally impossible to stereotype, to solve problems in one blind sweep. We are a mixing pot of emotions, ideas, appearances, cultures, religions, etc; and we all view things in different ways.

But the one thing everyone should get through their skulls is people are different, they always will be, and to judge or ridicule based on that difference is disgusting.

i understand what you're saying, but she wasn't joking when she said it helps bring out the best in guys. it's positive masculinity. and to actually understand her argument you actually have to listen to the whole thing instead of blow it off.

what does that have to do

with anything that was said

I did listen to her argument. I do believe that society has male and female roles that are placed on people as they grow, and I do believe many distinguishing factors between the lovees, (not physically of course) have their roots in a forming society where men hunted and women gathered and cared for children. I do not believe for a second that there is positive or negative masculinity but rather positive behaviour and negative behaviour.

The rest is to pin up my argument that to treat males and females differently when it comes to behaviour and learning societal norms is inherently unequal and completely against the ideas of true "feminism".

Now is no time for oxymorons, Kimon.

I told you they exist

they're just rare to come across

Doesn't mean the term "feminist" is the correct one to use though.

i think the reason is because she was a feminist back when it was actually for equality

she explains that shes tempted to not call herself a feminist, but feminism has a good history and she wants to kind of reform feminism from the inside
