minecraft was originally created with the idea of survival AND open sandbox construction put together. it has an atmosphere because that's what the developers were aiming at.

blockland has a much more empty atmosphere because players are given their own control of it. the build you make and the environment settings can be customized so many different ways that it makes blockland a much broader sandbox game than minecraft.

in fact, get this: with time and effort you could remake minecraft in blockland. you can't do it the other way around.

At some point bricks loose their collision and then rendering goes. There is a limit.
