Already in the air, I decide to do a few quick rolls to get a feel for the plane.

"Where were you 1-1, did you fall in?" I ask, poking fun at the lead.

I fly in the left-2nd row of the loosely formed delta-wing formation. I go up and down a bit, noticing a horrible lack of maneuvering ability of the craft. "Anyone wonder why they are using this rust-bucket? It is as if they want us to be out-turned and out-maneuvered!"

In the sky I have a knack of opening up a little more... just like my nickname that my cadets as the flight academy used to call me, Turtle Shell, or just Turtle.

"Yeah, it's nothing impressive, we don't have to refuel as often and the range is pretty good- but that's about it."

"Mjolnir Team, we have radar sighting of a Huitzlaotani scouting party to your two' clock, twenty-five kilometers out. Looks like three craft, they don't look particularly advanced. We cannot allow them to locate Valhalla airbase, and you're all already up in the air. Higher Command advises you engage, so get to it."

I loose a missile at one of the planes. He jinks and drops chaff. The chaff fails to distract the missile, which promptly blows his left wing to shreds.
